π France's apprenticeship student count grew over 150K

France's total apprenticeship enrolments increased by over 150K between 2021 and 2023, signifying growth in apprenticeship programs and offerings for students. BTS programs led with 189,800 students, while business degrees grew as well. The 2018 "Avenir Professionnel" reform and β¬8,000 hiring incentives accelerated growth in offerings for students and young undergraduates, making industrial experience a valuable and accessible addition to their higher education, while helping reduce youth unemployment from 24.6% to 17.8%.
βοΈ NHS ambulance workers keep increasing amid shortages

Between March 2022 and March 2025, NHS ambulance staff increased from 19.3K to 23.6K, reflecting growing emergency care demand. However, workforce shortages persist due to high turnover and retention issues, delays in accreditation, and systemic delays in the NHS. Reliance on international recruitment is challenged by tighter immigration rules, limiting overseas staff inflow. The government is addressing this through workforce planning and domestic training initiatives, but aligning supply with demand remains a major challenge.
π Chinaβs growing EV industry employs more than traditional industry leaders

Between 2010 and 2024, Chinaβs car manufacturing workforce grew from 2.0M to over 3.5M, outpacing traditional hubs like the US and Europe. Rapid scale has been China's biggest advantage, and it is driven by large domestic demand, government industrial support, and dominance in EV production. Meanwhile, traditional markets face ageing plants, labour constraints, and slower EV adoption among many challenges in adapting, affecting global competitiveness and innovation while shifting focus to new markets.
