๐ถ Global pre-primary net enrolment reached 50%

In 2022, half of the worldโs children were enrolled in pre-primary education. Early childhood education, for children from birth to age eight, lays the foundation for cognitive, social, and emotional development during a critical period of brain growth. With rising costs of living, many parents are unable to enrol their children in pre-primary school. International initiatives and national policies aim to expand access, especially in regions with low enrolment, ensuring all children start school prepared and supported.
๐ European companies led GHG reduction targets

In 2024, European firms led global corporate climate action with over 630 companies setting greenhouse gas reduction targets. Companies have such emission targets to comply with evolving environmental regulations, manage climate related risks, and drive cost saving efficiencies. Companies in North America and Asia follow, reflecting growing corporate responsibility worldwide. Leading European firms often integrate emissions reductions into business strategy, signalling the importance of corporate climate action in achieving broader environmental goals and aligning with international climate agreements.
๐ญ Transport sector leads the EU in sold production value

In 2024, transport equipment had nearly โฌ900B in sold production, second only to food and tobacco. High demand for cars, trucks, and aerospace components across Europe and globally drives this sector. Strong industrial clusters in Germany, France, and Italy, along with exports and technological innovation, support growth. Other sectors, such as food, metal products, and machinery, follow, but transport remains the backbone of EU manufacturing, highlighting its strategic role in trade, employment, and advanced industrial capabilities.
