👶 Home-based childcare reached nearly 30%

Home-based childcare, which accounts for nearly 30% of primary arrangements in the US, refers to care provided in a private home rather than a formal child care center. This includes family child care run by licensed providers, care by relatives such as grandparents, or paid nannies and babysitters operating in a home setting. More broadly, childcare in the US is highly fragmented and shaped by cost, availability, and parental work patterns rather than a universal system.

⚕️ Singapore leads among the healthiest countries

Singapore ranks as the healthiest country in 2024 with a health index of nearly 2.5, ahead of Japan and Switzerland. Its leading position reflects a strong national focus on preventive healthcare, widespread access to high-quality medical services, and effective public health policies promoting healthy lifestyles. Urban planning is an important factor which contributes to population wellness, making Singapore a model for health outcomes in Asia and globally.

🤖 Apple had the lowest smart speaker market share

Apple’s smart speaker market share remains relatively low in 2024, reflecting strategic and ecosystem choices rather than weak brand demand. Higher price points and a stronger emphasis on privacy over aggressive data-driven features have also constrained mass adoption. This narrower positioning prioritises quality and control over rapid scale, resulting in slower adoption compared with more open and mass market platforms.
