The United States of America holds the world's largest operable reactor capacity at 96,952 MWe, a fleet that supplies about 30% of worldwide nuclear generation. This dominance coincides with soaring electricity demand from new data centers, prompting the planned restart of retired plants, such as Holtec’s Palisades Nuclear Plant in Michigan.
