✈️ Indian Student Enrolment in the US Surpassed 330K

India is the clear leader in US international student enrolment with 331,602 students, far surpassing China's 277,398. This trend highlights a surging preference for US higher education among Indian students, driven by top-ranked universities and STEM-focused post-study opportunities like Optional Practical Training (OPT). Despite this student influx, new US visa policies are creating complications. The US Department of State shut down the third-country visa option, forcing Indian students into longer backlogs and uncertainty at domestic consulates.
⚕️ Chlamydia Emerged As the Most Reported STI in the US

Chlamydia had the highest number of US STI cases from 2020-2024, peaking at approximately 490 cases per 100K citizens in 2022. High rates stem from increased screening, asymptomatic transmission, and healthcare disruptions during COVID-19. The HHS STI National Strategic Plan (2021-2025) targets prevention through expanded testing, treatment access, and addressing health disparities. CDC guidelines emphasize routine screening for at-risk populations and partner notification protocols.
🤖 AI Infrastructure Remained the Top Focus Area for Private Investors

Global private AI investment in 2024 was led by infrastructure, research, and governance, attracting $37.3B, far ahead of healthcare and autonomous vehicles. The spread highlights how foundational systems underpin nearly every applied use case. Manufacturing and semiconductors also drew sizable funding, reflecting AI’s growing role in advanced production processes. With education-related AI securing $1B, investment trends also show promise for workforce training. The OECD AI Policy Observatory continues tracking global AI governance frameworks.
