🏫 India’s Strongest SDG Indicator Is Its Net Primary Enrolment Rate

India shows strong performance in SDG 4, with a 99% net primary enrolment rate and a 94.5% pre primary participation rate. India’s education system continues to strengthen through high primary enrolment, expanding early learning participation, and steady improvements in youth literacy, supported by ongoing reforms under the National Education Policy. Continued implementation by the Ministry of Education aims to strengthen foundational literacy and secondary school retention across states.

🍃 Finland Led UN SDG Index in 2024

Finland leads the 2024 UN SDG Index with a score of 86.35, followed by Sweden and Denmark, reaffirming Northern Europe’s consistent dominance in sustainability performance. The high rankings reflect strong integration of social equity, climate action, and clean energy policies across these economies. As developing nations work to close the gap, the UN’s 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development continues guiding national strategies through the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs.

🏭 Decline in Biomass and Renewable Waste Energy in the US

US biomass and renewable waste energy capacity had an overall decline from 2013-2023. The gradual fall shows reduced investment as cheaper solar and wind options expand nationwide. This shift mirrors broader workforce movement into solar manufacturing and installation roles, highlighted in recent clean energy labour reports. It also parallels student demand for renewable engineering programs. The Inflation Reduction Act, implemented by the US Department of Energy, continues steering investment toward emerging low carbon technologies.
