✈️ Rising Numbers of International Students in Japan

In 2023, the number of international students in Japan increased by 20.8% in comparison to the previous years. This growth was thanks to the significant increase in students in Japanese language institutes by 18.2%. To attract diverse talent, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) continues to offer initiatives for the internationalisation of Japanese universities, like the Global 30 scholarship.
🍃 Global Renewable Capacity Doubled

Global renewable energy capacity nearly doubled between 2013 and 2023, rising from 1,566 GW to almost 3,870 GW. The trend shows steady growth with acceleration after 2020, reflecting falling costs and stronger investment in renewable energy. This expansion highlights renewables as the backbone of future energy security and climate resilience. The International Renewable Energy Agency’s Global Renewables Outlook underlines the role of renewables in achieving net-zero targets and shaping sustainable economic pathways.
🤖 Information and Communication Led AI Enterprises

AI adoption among EU companies has risen by 5.5% over the last year, reaching 13.48%. The positive trend is primarily driven by the information and communication sector, which has an AI usage rate of 48.7%. However, Europe still struggles with its inability to move beyond experimental pilot projects and successfully deploy AI solutions for daily business operations. To improve their position, the EU is launching projects like InvestAI, with the goal of mobilizing €200B in investments.
