🏫 Gamified Learning in the Leaderboard of EdTech

Gamified learning emerged as the leader in growth in the EdTech sector in 2025, highlighting its role in the modern day classroom as teachers ranked it the top engagement method, outpacing visuals or other tactics. Gamification integrates game elements like points, badges, leaderboards, and challenges, driving higher motivation and completion rates. AI personalisation, AR/VR immersion, and real-time feedback further enhanced its appeal. However, overreliance on extrinsic rewards in gamified learning risks fostering addiction and superficial understanding over deep learning. Competitive elements and data collection also raise concerns about student stress, cyberbullying, and privacy breaches.
⚕️ Gym Membership Enrolment Peaked in January

Getting more exercise continues to be one of the most popular New Year’s resolutions in the US, with it not being too far off from the global phenomenon, as proven by the gym membership trends in the US in 2024. Membership reaches its relative highest in the year in January, and then experiences a noticeable decline, with seasonal rebounds during the beginning and the end of the summer, with summer vacation numbers being very low. Fitness has emerged as a growing industry, with popularity rising owing to fitness tracking and wearables, and increased awareness of non-communicable diseases.
🤖 US Continues Push To Lead in AI With Most Startups

The US led with 4,643 AI startups in 2025, driven by unprecedented capital increases. AI captured nearly 50% of all global funding, dominated by mega-rounds. Startups boomed due to private equity and VC firms flooding foundation models, AI infrastructure, and applications. Key focus areas span healthcare, finance, generative AI, and enterprise automation. However, AI infrastructure accessibility democratised through specialised GPU cloud providers offering NVIDIA H100/H200 access at 30-50% lower costs than hyperscalers, alongside national AI initiatives, aimed at further enhancing the growing AI ecosystem in the US.
