💼 Australia and New Zealand least affected by NEET

Australia and New Zealand recorded the lowest youth NEET rate in 2024 due to strong school to work pathways and active labour market programmes that support young people. These countries also benefit from stable labour markets and close links between employers and education providers. Despite this, NEET remains widespread globally as rising competition for jobs and limited access to quality education continue to hinder young people from stable employment and training opportunities.
⚕️ Official development assistance in the health sector is at risk

Global health official development assistance (ODA) fell to $13.4B in 2023, returning to pre-pandemic levels. This confirms a decade-long stagnation outside the COVID surge. This plateau persists despite worsening global health workforce shortages and rising disease burdens. The USA’s recent departure from the World Health Organisation may affect such funding. Sustained ODA remains essential to support universal health coverage goals, especially in developing regions.
🤖 China and India led AI integration

China and India lead global integrated AI adoption in 2024, with rates approaching 60%, driven by fast growing digital markets and strong government support for technology expansion. Their vast consumer bases allow companies to scale AI services quickly across finance and public services. Large data availability also accelerates innovation. As competition rises, AI adoption is becoming central to economic growth and future workforce development worldwide.
