👶 Head Start Reached Only 35% of 3- and 4-Year-Olds in the US

Head Start is a comprehensive federally funded program offering early childhood education, health, nutrition, and social services to children from low-income families, aiming to promote school readiness. Despite its importance, only around 35% of 3- and 4-year-olds in poverty are able to access Head Start due to limited funding and capacity. This longstanding gap has seen little improvement over the years, and recent federal funding cuts have further worsened the situation, leaving a significant number of eligible children without essential support.
⚕️ African Region’s Health Workforce Shortage Reached 40%
In 2023, the European Region recorded the smallest share of the global health workforce shortage at just 1%, supported by effective policies, higher wages, and effective retention policies. In contrast, the African Region faced the largest shortage at 40%, driven by limited healthcare funding, workforce migration, and insufficient education infrastructure. These shortages hit rural communities and low income populations hardest, reducing access to essential care. The WHO’s Global Strategy on Human Resources for Health seeks to close these gaps.
🤖 Global AI Software Market Reached Nearly $100B

Global AI software market revenue surged from $10.1B in 2018 to $94.4B in 2024, reflecting the rapid adoption across industries. This rapid growth is fueled by advances in expanding AI integration across enterprises. The acceleration signals AI’s transition from niche applications to core business infrastructure. Many governments, including the EU through its 2024 AI Act, are now implementing regulations to balance innovation with ethical and safety considerations.
