HolonIQ’s AI technology Applications Framework identifies four key technologies driving the use of AI in education: Vision, Voice, Language, and Analytics.

Last year's AI in Education survey revealed that Analytics and Language were perceived as having the most potential impact on the education industry. Both applications play an integral part, for example, in scaling and integrating intelligent Adaptive Learning solutions across the education sector. Intelligent Adaptive Learning is a disruptive technology backed by AI that aims to personalize teaching based on students' learning preferences, knowledge state and progress.

## 🏆 Global EdTech 1000

Each year, HolonIQ identifies the [1000 most promising EdTech startups](https://www.holoniq.com/global-edtech-1000?ref=newsletters.qs.com) globally. Region by region, we build a picture of each market, showcasing how technology is being used in education, from PreK to Lifelong Upskilling. Drawing on the HolonIQ Platform, along with perspectives from market experts in each region, analysts from our Education Intelligence Unit consider which segments are in demand, where capital is flowing, the products and models gaining traction, and the characteristics of the leadership team. 

The 2023 Global EdTech 1000 shows growth in the broad category of ‘education management’, which captures EdTech startups supporting the digitization of processes at education institutions and companies, from analytics to LMS’s, parent communication apps, financing education, and full-service administrative environments, indicative of the long-term move to build digital infrastructure in traditional education settings. STEAM is the next largest category globally, but with significant variation across geographies, from 1 in 5 in Africa and the Nordics to 7% in North America. STEAM cuts across K12 to Workforce, including upskilling in tech boot camps and building core concepts in early learning.

🔒 **Global Grid for Learning (GG4L)**, a privacy-centric education data exchange platform, [raised $18M](https://gg4l.com/gg4l-secures-18m-in-capital-funding/?ref=newsletters.qs.com) to help vendors prioritize student data privacy.

🪙 **Goalsetter**, a provider of financial curriculum for families, secured [$9.6M in Series A](https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/goalsetter-secures-9-6-million-in-series-a-extension-funding-to-help-american-families-learn-to-save-spend-invest-and-build-wealth-302097044.html?ref=newsletters.qs.com) funding. The company aims to leverage these funds for new B2B partnerships and continued program development.

🍀 Automated workforce coaching platform **Cloverleaf** [raised $7.3M](https://www.prweb.com/releases/cloverleaf-secures-7-3-million-series-a-extension-led-by-advantage-capital-302099291.html?ref=newsletters.qs.com) in a Series A extension round led by Advantage Capital. Tripling revenue since its June 2022 funding, the company expects continued growth with this capital injection, bringing their total funding to $20M.

🏅 **Accredify**, a digital certificate provider provider, secured a [strategic investment](https://en.jmdedu.com/Article/1162.html?ref=newsletters.qs.com) in its Series A extension following a [$7 million](https://techcrunch.com/2023/04/19/accredify/?ref=newsletters.qs.com) financing round in April 2023.

✅ **EdLight**, an AI-powered feedback & grading platform for educators, [secured $4M](https://www.einnews.com/pr%5Fnews/699004833/edlight-secures-4-million-in-seed-round-funding-to-revolutionize-education?ref=newsletters.qs.com) in seed funding. 

💻 **Sprints**, an Egypt-based AI-powered tech upskilling EdTech, [raised a $3M bridge round](https://www.zawya.com/en/wealth/alternative-investments/egypts-edtech-sprintsai-raises-3mln-to-fund-expansion-u48p5zbc?ref=newsletters.qs.com) led by Disruptech Ventures, to finance its expansion into ten new markets.

🧑‍💼 Special education curriculum provider **n2y** and Texthelp, an assistive technology company, [merged](https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/texthelp-and-n2y-join-forces-to-make-education-and-the-workplace-more-inclusive-for-everyone-302098253.html?ref=newsletters.qs.com) to create a new entity serving diverse learners and neurodiverse employees worldwide.

👶 **Wonderschool**, a network of micro preschools, acquired EarlyDay, an early childhood career marketplace.

🧑‍🏫 **StraighterLine**, a US-based OPM provider, [acquired](https://www.edtechreview.in/news/straighterline-announces-acquisition-of-prosolutions-training-to-provide-early-childhood-education/?ref=newsletters.qs.com) ProSolutions Training, a professional development care solution that provides training for early childhood educators.

🌍 International study platform, **Keystone Education Group** [acquired](https://thepienews.com/news/keystone-acquires-edunation-asia-exchange/?ref=newsletters.qs.com) Edunation and Asia Exchange to expand its reach to Asia Pacific and promote Nordic study destinations.

🏭 An online training platform **Certus**, [acquired](https://www.prweb.com/releases/certus-expands-business-to-business-portfolio-with-paulson-training-acquisition-302096639.html?ref=newsletters.qs.com) Paulson Training, a manufacturing training provider, expanding Certus' portfolio of industrial skills and simulations.
