🏫 Slovenian K-12 success rate reached over 90%

Slovenia’s primary and lower secondary completion rates reached over 90% in 2024, reflecting a strong national commitment to universal education. The country enforces compulsory schooling, provides free public education, and invests heavily in teacher training and school infrastructure. Early intervention programmes support struggling students, while inclusive policies reduce the risk of dropout. These measures ensure consistent attendance and continuity of learning, helping most children progress smoothly through basic education and build a strong foundation for higher studies and future employment.

🍃 Fossil fuel-powered vehicles are driving up CO2 emissions

Cars produced the highest carbon dioxide emissions in 2024 because most still rely on fossil fuels and are used by single passengers for daily travel. Traffic congestion and inefficient driving further increase fuel use per kilometre. As a result, more people are shifting to metros, trams, and buses as cities expand clean transport networks. This growing use of public transport reflects rising environmental awareness and stronger policies to cut urban emissions. The rise of green cities has influenced cleaner transport methods in order to ensure sustainable lifestyle practices.

🏭 Asia led the maritime freight volume

Asia accounts for nearly 50% of global maritime freight, highlighting its central role in global production and trade networks. The region hosts major ports in China, India, and Sri Lanka that connect manufacturing centres with international markets and major shipping lanes. Strategic investments in port infrastructure and logistics along the silk route have strengthened this position. Geopolitical priorities around supply chain security and control of key sea routes have also pushed governments to expand and modernise ports to secure long term economic and trade influence.
