👶 State Spending per Pre-K12 Child in the US

In 2022, the District of Columbia led US pre-K spending with $20,442 per child, far above states like Pennsylvania at $7,787. The wide gap underscores disparities in early childhood investment, which can shape long term educational outcomes. Higher spending states often provide smaller class sizes and stronger support services. Nationally, the Preschool Development Grant Birth through Five program encourages states to expand and improve access, aiming to reduce inequities in early learning.

⚕️ 2022 Had the Highest Number of Migrant Deaths or Displacements in the Americas

Education remains one of the most effective tools for supporting refugees and migrants, helping them integrate into new communities and access better opportunities. Yet, limited access to safe routes has made migration in the Americas increasingly dangerous, with thousands dying or going missing over the past decade. Rising mobility pressures highlight the importance of education in equipping displaced people with skills for safer transitions. UNESCO’s Global Education Coalition has expanded programs to ensure learning continuity for refugees.

🏭 The US Spent the Most on Space Programs Globally

The United States led global space spending in 2024 with nearly $80B, above China’s $19B and ESA’s $9B. These budgets remain vital for regional goals and innovation. Rising international interest highlights space’s role in security,  climate monitoring and technology development. NASA’s Artemis program, supported by strong US funding, showcases government ambition in next-generation space exploration.
