👶 US Child Poverty Nearly Tripled Between 2021-2023

The US child poverty rate climbed to 15.3% in 2023, nearly triple the 2021 level of 5.3%. This surge has deep consequences for children under six, reducing access to quality early education during critical developmental years. Rising childcare costs further widen inequities, leaving many families without support. Federal initiatives such as the Child Care and Development Block Grant seek to expand access but funding gaps continue to challenge long-term effectiveness.

🍃 Rise in Nuclear Energy in China’s Electricity Generation

Nuclear energy’s share of global electricity rose steadily from 3% in 2015 to 5% in 2021 before dipping slightly to 4.7% in 2024. This plateau suggests that while nuclear remains important for low carbon generation, growth is slowing compared to renewables. France and China continue to expand capacity, while others face cost and political barriers. The EU’s Green Taxonomy, which classifies nuclear as sustainable, may influence future investment momentum.

🤖 Increasing Investment in AI Solutions Globally

India leads global AI adoption, with 96% of companies reporting investment in AI solutions by May 2025, compared to 85% in the US and 84% in Europe and Brazil. This surge reflects India’s rapid digital transformation as an AI hub. The National AI Strategy, driven by NITI Aayog, is channeling investment toward AI infrastructure, research, and workforce readiness to sustain this momentum. Overall, global AI solution investment is accelerating as companies across key markets integrate automation and machine learning.
